WHO WE ARE

The Sloan Biotechnology Industry Center (SBIC) is an independent, academic research center focused on the study of issues related to competitive advantage of the U.S. biotechnology industry.

The center conducts research using interdisciplinary teams to facilitate working directly with industry to investigate critical areas affecting current and future performance of U.S. biotechnology companies. (See "publications" for a few quick management ideas.)

Our initial research efforts include studies to examine:

  Methods for reducing costs and development time for new products;

Ways to manage technical, market, business and regulatory uncertainties;

The economic, social and competitive consequences of existing and emerging operational arrangements.
